You Don’t Have to Change to Be Loved | Julian Whitethorn

Real love does not ask you to become someone else. It meets you when you stop hiding who you are.

We are often taught that love must be earned by improving ourselves, correcting ourselves, or becoming more. But love does not begin when we perform a better version of ourselves. It begins when we stop moving away from who we are and allow ourselves to be seen.

English Translation

You do not have to become someone else
to be worthy of love.

I know: you were taught otherwise.
That you have to improve yourself, correct yourself,
become more to be seen,
to be chosen.

But real love does not arrive when you transform yourself.
It arrives when you stop moving away from who you are.

Because who you are when you are not defending yourself,
when you are not pretending,
when you are not trying to please,
is already enough.

Not perfect.
Alive.

And presence—real presence—
does not ask for approval.

It does not justify itself.
There is no effort to shine.
It simply stays.

And that is exactly why it can be felt.

You do not have to become someone.
You only have to stop hiding.

And when that happens,
love does not find you in what you show,
but in who you are.
